3. Why you want to do this ride

Support bicycling and its visibility and support by the mayors of the supporting cities.

4. Tell us about your touring experience- if little or none, indicate many miles have you ridden over the last year:

I've been riding seriously for about 20 years.. This includes multiple centuries, bike tours,
bike commuting, etc. Over the last year I've probably ridden 5000 miles, maybe more. .

5. Tell us about your bike

I have a Trek 5200 road bike and a Trek 970 mountain bike which I've converted into a commute bike.

6. Describe your training regimen

Riding the roads and hills around the bay area where I live, commuting to and from work,
running.

7. How are you making time for this

Taking a day(s) off work for the weekdays I'll participate.

8. What are your fears about doing this ride

Having work conflicts that'll prevent me from participating.

9. Do you have any personal contacts that you feel could help the National Bicycle Greenway or the Mayors' Ride? If so, please list them here.

• I'm the chair of the Mountain View Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee so maybe I can get support in Mountain View.
  
• I'm a member of Silicon Valley Bicycle Coalition.
  
• I know the vice-mayor of Santa Clara and got her to ride her bike on Bike to Work Day this year even in the rain.
  
• \I'm a member of a few other bay are bicycle coalitions (EBBC, SFBC) but don't actively participate.
  

10. Anything else you'd like to share with us?

I applaud all who organize and support this ride. It is through hard work by folks such as the NBG that bicycling gets a higher degree of visibility and support.
