3. Why you want to do this ride

I believe in the cause, plus I like bike riding, running, the outdoors, people, places and life and to challenge myself..

4. Tell us about your touring experience- if little or none, indicate many miles have you ridden over the last year:

My bike had not been taken out of my garage in the last 2.5 years. I've been mostly running. In 2001 I did the Emigrant Trails Bike Trek in the Sacramento foothils (3 days) appx. 45 miles/day.

5. Tell us about your bike

It's just a simple road bike 21 speed Century.

6. Describe your training regimen

It's been only running, 4 miles every other day and 6 miles on a weekend day.

7. How are you making time for this

I don't work weekends

8. What are your fears about doing this ride

Lots! just kidding. .

9. If you are involved with other non-profit organizations, please tell us about them:

a) The Career Closet of Santa Clara County - volunteer. This agency assists women (with special needs) who are getting back into the job market with clothing for inteviews.

b) The Wellness Community of Walnut Creek. This agency provides assistance to cancer patients and family members in the psychological part and nutrition while struggling with the disease. I ran the International Adidas 2004 Marathon in Vancouver, Canada and raised a little over $3000.00 for this agency.

c) Brighter Holidays Program at LLNL. I coordinate this program in my division at Lawrence Livermore National Lab during the holidays. Collection of gifts and miscellaneous items for needy familes in the area.

d) Amigos Unidos at LLNL. This club raises funds to assist and encourage High School students to continue with higher educations. Through events we raise money and give scholarships.
