Photos from the 2004 Mayors' Ride . Starting next season, in full view of the internet community (see also ride report blogs), starting from big cities in all four corners of the US, NBG Scout cyclists, like the Lewis and Clark explorers of 1804-06, will document safe passage, using our ride input form, to large population centers all across America. Not shielded behind glass or metal, their efforts will show how bicycling can not only reunite us with our health and inner peace but with all of those brothers and sisters who make up an America few take the time to truly explore. The goodwill our Scouts will spread will be celebrated in the Mayoral receptions that will end one journey and begin another as the 2005 Mayors’ Ride travels across America.

Photos from the 2004 Mayors' Ride in California. On our 2004 Mayors' Ride which ended on July 30 in Chicago, Don Loomis rode the entire west coast flank from San Jose CA. He continued on to Washington DC. His ride was documented by Faye Sanders. For our 2005 season, we are in dialogue with both a writers group and a couple of college classes about using their talent to report on our NBG Scouts. And they are enthusiastic about working with us!

Photos from the 2003 2003 Mayors' Ride. 67 year old Jim Muellner, inventor of the Smart Carte shopping cart system that passengers rent to shuttle their baggage around at airports, became our first coast-to-coast Mayors' Ride rider. The trike, he rode was made by his company, Just Two Bikes. When he finished, he folded it up, and took it home with him om an airplane!
