Killer Map site & Jeff Reser's Wagon Train Grnadpa

The following site has been up for a number of months (>6) now and it is really turning into a powerful resource for seeing how long your rides are, possible routes and what other people have done. Tho there are lots of runners involved, hence the name of the site, I did notice a bunch of bike rides too.

In fact I long have wanted to ride my HiWheel over to Los Gatos but never have known what the bike miles are since I can't take the shorter more direct freeways, but now I know. Tells me how much of a time window I have to leave open. It's fun to use and lot faster than it was even a few months ago!!

I plan to soon link it to our heavily hit home page and will also run it at our Mayors' Ride pages. Do take:

for a run/ride!! You will love it!!

Also our Mayors' Ride logo artist, Jeff Reser. after reading about Omaha and the wagon trains that bridged the gap between it and the West, sent us this:

I dont think I ever told you that my great, great
grandfather ran a wagon train that would cross back
and forth our country several times. There is even a
famous stadium on the northwest that bears his name.

Actually, more probably of his other descendants.

While there are only a couple handfuls of Resers in
each local, there seems to be a string of
municipalities that host isolated Reser families from
Eastern Pennsylvainia to Seattle and Portland.

That might be kinda revealing of his character . . .
and of the times.

Perhaps its from his adventuresome spirit that Jason
and I engage in epic bicycle rides.
